God has truly blessed us and it is always evident about this time every year when we come together as a parish family for our annual picnic. We have been blessed with great food, great conversation and great fun and when you throw in great weather, it makes for a GREAT day to give honor to our great God in this place. The old adage is, “Many hands make light work,” so many thanks to the hands that helped this past weekend.

In the kitchen was Pat and Rick Scharf, Fred and Barb Baumer, Christy Rowing, Mary Noble and Tish Sweeney. Lending a hand at the grills were Greg Michalos, Dave Gilbert, Alex Parker, and Bill Matthews. Heading up the hospitality and welcoming Sue Leslie, Terri Engle, and Adele and Gary Kush. Helping with the setup was William Gay, Darrel, Thomas and James Gurr and Maureen Lakin.

Keeping the young ones occupied with games and face painting, The Romans family, Anna Grasso-Gay, Maddie and Abby Kostielney and Heather Gilbert. Serving all of the wonderful food: Terri and Joe Sergio, Al Horvath, the Hardig family, Betty Suter, Esther Cyr and Michelle Bilinski. And filling in the gaps were members of the youth group, Jacob and MaryKatherine Klaybor, Nick and Marissa Downer, Maggie and Sophia Wilson, Patrick Sweeney, Sean Maxwell, Mary Lyon, Aaron Yarbrough and Grant Goy. Thanks too to Scout Troop 451 for the use of the dining fly, TPC Technologies and Ken and Pam Kuespert for making everything sound good and to Bob Heiderman and Jacob Esch for letting folks get to new heights with the rock wall. I’m hoping that I have mentioned all who have helped, but there are always unsung “heroes” that step up at the last minute to lend a hand which is a testimony to the strong Christian community that is Christ the King.
