Hello Christ the King!

I would like to introduce myself as your new Director of Liturgy and Music! Needless to say, I am absolutely elated to have been selected for this position, and cannot express what a joy it is to be “home” at Christ the King.

In this time of transition, I have had an  opportunity to start out the school year with the children’s choir. There has already been a hefty growth in both size and spirit. I am looking forward to the coming year with them. In October, I will be inviting the entire school choir to sing, on a bi-weekly basis, for the 5:00 Vigil Mass.

The adult choir will begin rehearsals on Wednesday October 9th from 7-9pm. There is no need to read music! All are welcome! For the time being, the adult choir will sing for the 10:30 Mass only. Although much of the music used will remain the same, the overall feeling of our Liturgies will slightly change. The organ will be taking a larger place of prominence. However, we will still sing much of the contemporary music we all know and love, with some added sacred music thrown in along the way.

In addition to the choirs, there is room for everyone to serve at any capacity in the wonderful ministry. This includes guitars, strings, anything! We will also need a core group of parishioners for the Art and Environment committee. It is never too early to start planning upcoming feasts and even Christmas! Over the next year, I hope to build a strong and versatile music ministry here at Christ the King. If you have any questions, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to get in contact with me!

Thank you all for your gracious welcome and patience.
