Project Description

I have some exciting news to share!  Discussion about a building expansion has been going on for awhile.  Our last expansion in 2002 was Phase I of a multi-phase project.  Beginning in late 2015, a committee of parishioners worked together with an architect for over a year to make a wish list and assess our needs, and then streamline the project to one we thought we could afford.
The design we’re proposing will consist of eight classrooms and a full-sized gymnasium situated on the north side of the property, where the maintenance garage currently stands.
This design will enable us to expand our early childhood ministry (we’ve had to turn away families on waiting lists for the past few years), offer dedicated meeting space for larger parish groups, improve our after-school care and enjoy the benefits that come with a full-sized gymnasium.  We also hope to use this campaign to beautify the exterior of the church building, in response to several comments made in the parish survey.
After many months of investigation, discussion, prayer and research, Christ the King has decided to embark on a capital campaign this fall.  Our goal is $5 million.  It’s an ambitious goal, to be sure, but one that we believe is very achievable and necessary for the continued growth of our parish and school.  Please look for much more detailed information about the campaign and building plans in the months to come.  I ask for you to prayerfully discern how you might support the campaign this fall.
Finally, we need your help!  Many hands are needed to make this campaign a success.  Next week we’ll post opportunities for you to volunteer your time to help make this campaign a success, so please consider if you feel called to volunteer.
Please continue to pray for our parish during this exciting time of growth!
