Project Description

Our campaign is here! I let you know back in May that we were beginning a new campaign entitled Our Faith, Our Families, Our Future, which will raise $5 million to fund an expansion to our facilities. After years of considering this possibility, months of actively planning, and extensive efforts to secure advanced donations, I am happy to report that the public phase of the campaign is now underway!

The public phase of the campaign will span the next three weeks, and you will have many opportunities to learn more about the campaign and how you can support it.

You will hear talks from parishioners after the homily for the next three weeks which will provide you with a greater understanding of what this campaign seeks to accomplish and why it’s necessary.

Parish Information Sessions will be held at 7pm on Tuesday November 6th and Monday November 12th in the church. Here you’ll have the opportunity to receive more detailed information, as well as ask questions about the campaign.

Displays in the vestibule will show you what the expanded facility will look like.

I hope you take advantage of these opportunities to learn more about this exciting time in our parish!

We haven’t had a capital campaign at Christ the King since the last one closed in 2002, and we’ve managed to make a lot of upgrades and improvements to our facilities during that time. We were able to make dramatic improvements to the interior of the church (including the stained glass windows) with one-time fundraising. And we’ve been able to make a lot of other improvements, such as the playground and the pipe organ, without additional fundraising. Additionally, we’ve tried to plan ahead so that we haven’t had to plead for money in order to tackle significant projects in our physical plant, such as tuck pointing and re-roofing.

We’ll ask every parishioner to take a pledge card on November 18th, which will be Commitment Sunday. My hope is that, between now and then, each of you will take some time to prayerfully discern how you might support the campaign. We can only achieve our goal if all parishioners participate. Even though everyone isn’t able to give at the same level, everyone’s contribution matters, and all of us will benefit from these great expansions to our facilities. I thank you in advance for your support!

P.S. As you discern your gift, please remember that our Bishop’s Appeal goal is rolled up into our campaign goal, so I’d ask that you add what you would normally give to the Bishop’s Appeal onto your campaign pledge.
