Happy Valentine’s Day! Thank you to our wonderful mom helpers that sent in treats to make our St. Valentine celebration special.
Mr. Glassman came in Thursday and taught us all about bats. The largest bat has a wingspan of just about six feet! I’m glad that bat is not native to Indiana! Miss Kenesey had some great lessons about letter writing that she implemented. Our second graders wrote letters to Jesus. They are wonderful writers. Their thoughts and ideas were so endearing!
The season of Lent has started. We discussed different ways that we can fast, pray, and give alms. The children had many great ideas to implement during the forty days of Lent. We enjoyed Stations of the Cross this afternoon with our seventh grade buddies. There will be Lenten Service Project information coming home soon.
The Fireside Reading program started this week. There are still a couple of dates open if you would like to come in to read to the second graders. We would love to have you!
The Eucharist Chapter 3 Activity was sent home on Thursday. It is due on Thursday, February 26th.
There is no school on Monday. Happy President’s Day!
Tuesday is our Field Trip to Compton Ice Area. Please remember to send a sack lunch with a drink. The children may wear jeans and a CKS t-shirt, or sweatshirt. Please remember to have your child wear long socks. You are welcome to join us for lunch or for skating.
