We had another wonderful week in second grade. Your children are growing by leaps and bounds. We had a great time ice skating at Compton Arena. The children learned how important it is to take care of our bodies by exercising and eating healthy foods. A big thank you to all the parents that were able to join us!
Thank you for working with your children on the Eucharist book. Chapter 3 is due this Thursday.
The theme for the Lenten Season is the Works of Mercy. We are collecting items to be donated to Our Lady of the Road. Second grade should donate bar soap. Your child may bring in bars of soap anytime during Lent.
Miss Kenesey will be with us for a couple more weeks and then she will move on to the second part of her student teaching assignment. It has been such a blessing to share our second grade classroom with her. She is a gift to all of us. I would love to give her a basket with all sorts of teaching goodies in it. I would like to fill the basket with anything she may need to start her teaching career. If you would be willing to send in anything you think she may need – from a desk stapler to dry erase markers to sticky notes to stickers – anything would be a wonderful addition. I would love to send her on her way with supplies to get her started. Please put any gift in a bag and send it in to Mrs. Miller’s room. I would love to keep this a surprise for Miss Kenesey.
