The Heritage Project is complete and what a success it is! The children learned so much about the history of their family and were so proud to share it with the class. So many nationalities are represented. Thank you for helping your child with this project. The “little people” make quite a display in our classroom and in the primary hall.
This week will be full of fun and exciting events! Catholic Schools’ Week starts on Sunday with our Open House. Please visit our classroom between 11:30 and 2:00 p.m. Your children love to show you what they have been working on. We learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and how he had a very special dream for our world. Your children wrote some of their special dreams on balloons. They also agree that it’s okay to be different. Be sure to check out our “It’s Okay” display by the front office. This week also brings us many opportunities for service. We will be making special door decorations for our neighbors at Wellbrooke Nursing Home. We will also gift Fr. Chris with a spiritual prayer card in thanking him for all he does for our school. We will wrap the week up with a pep assembly where one lucky teacher from primary, intermediate, and middle school will get a pie in the face! The teacher that has the most money in their jars will win! The money collected goes to our sister parish in Jalchatra, Bangladesh. Be sure to look at the special dress days in the communication that came home for Catholic Schools’ Week.
Hopefully you received the information about our second grade Invite a Friend on Wednesday, February 3rd. Invitations were sent home for the special guests. The guests will meet their second grader in the church basement at 10:15. They will enjoy a snack and then come upstairs to the classroom where the children are able to show off some of their special projects.
Can you believe that 100 days of school has gone by? Time really does go by fast! We celebrated with a giant bowl of the special 100 day snack. Thank you for sending in the treats for the children to share.
Thank you for working with your children in completing Chapter 1 in the Eucharist book. Your children are so ready to receive Jesus and are so open to learning about his special Sacrament. Please enjoy this special preparation time together.
There will not be a spelling list this week.
Please remember there is no school on Monday.
