When we first came to Christ the King 5 years ago, we came to an unknown area with no friends or family, an unknown parish, and led by faith that we were doing what was right. Very quickly we learned about the long history behind the parish, the brotherhood of the Holy Cross Order, the friendship of the Christ the King family, and the warmth of the Midwest. In my 5 years as your Director of Liturgy and Music, it has been an honor to be a part of this wonderful community that has welcomed us with open arms, and become our fiends and family. You have made it a joy to come to work every day! I am extremely grateful to Fr. Neil and the wonderful priests for their guidance and support in my ministry. To all the liturgical ministers for their dedication and professional manner in their duties; especially for finding their own subs when needed! To all our gifted cantors who take enough pride in their ministry to meet at all hours of the day just to go over a hymn or psalm. And to the best choir who continues to give of themselves, both young and old, no matter what is asked of them. I want to especially thank you, the assembly at Christ the King, for your active participation in the liturgies and the music. You cannot imagine the joy of hearing your voices lift up to the loft!
As we move on to New York and my family there, I will take a part of Christ the King with me, and believe I will have left a part of me here with you. May you always have a song in your heart and a dance in your step, and continue to walk with God.
Blessings, Erika & Mick Linsdell
