Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
As I say Good-bye to you, I want to THANK YOU. Over the past 5 years, I’ve experienced the Christian community, active ministry and worship that makes Christ the King such a great home of prayer for so many people.
I arrived in 2013, one month after Fr. Ron Tripi’s unexpected death, to assist Fr. Neil and Fr. Jarod. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of serving with Frs. Chris Rehagen, Steve Lacroix and Mike Palmer as well. And I’ve been with many of you: baptisms, weddings, funerals, daily prayer, visit in the hospital or at home, in the classroom.
Christ the King, as I hope you realize, is an excellent parish, especially for new Holy Cross deacons and priests. CTK is a “full service” parish: a bustling school and a church in whose pews gather a variety of persons. All of us, as baptized Christians, have many opportunities here to live out our Christian commitment as Catholics. And we know that even more can be done, as Fr. Steve and the Pastoral Council, in their deliberations and Parish Survey, have shown us.
As you know, we as clergy come and go, to minister where there is a need and where, we hope, our gifts and energies are best used. Since this is my 2nd time to serve the people of Christ the King as an associate pastor, please know how greatly I appreciate your presence and participation here. In all of this, let’s keep one another in prayer and keep making our journey – together – toward the Kingdom.
